Reducing ocean plastics in Sub-Saharan African countries by developing and scaling innovative solutions to plastic mismanagement

We are looking for an agency (or a consultancy/ freelancer who can demonstrate the ability to lead a team of consultants across markets) with strong reach across Sub-Saharan Africa that can develop and deliver a creative, dynamic and impactful campaign which will match the aims and ethos of the challenge prize and its partners.

This ITT is for work over a two-year period from April 2021 to March 2023.

The successful agency (or freelance consortium) will develop a communications plan that is based around media relations, social media and network marketing. The agency will be expected to advise as to the most relevant and influential communications channels in the target markets, adapting the campaign accordingly.

Media relations – Outlining the media relations strategy (in conjunction with Nesta
Challenges) for the period of the challenge and implementing all media relations both
Africa-wide and focused within the relevant markets.

  • NB – we should be considerate of communities and individuals that are not digitally connected or have lower levels of literacy. How do we reach these audiences creatively? How do we reach them through verbal and visual media, including radio and/or television?

Social media – Continued social media activity, including outlining the strategy (in conjunction with Nesta Challenges), identifying influencers, managing the ongoing content and supporting with some paid for amplification.

Network marketing and content strategy – Supporting with content on both owned and earned channels and ensuring a joined-up content strategy across all platforms.
