Join us to explore the future of community energy
When: 19 February 2020 11am-5pm
With the closure of the UK government’s feed-in-tariff subsidy for renewable energy generation, the financial sustainability of these projects is uncertain. However, it creates exciting opportunities for innovative business models that can help support local economies, while tackling the climate crisis. Community energy enables communities to come together to generate local, sustainable energy and cut fuel bills.
We’re hosting a forum event to explore the challenges and opportunities for community energy at this exciting time of transition. Featured at the event will be the chance to:
- Hear presentations from experts and practitioners
- Take part in our interactive workshop to explore the challenges and opportunities for innovation in new business models for community energy
- Brainstorm possible challenge prizes that could support innovation in the sector
There will also be a complimentary networking lunch and drinks reception.
Community energy enables communities to come together to generate local, sustainable energy and cut fuel bills.
We welcome community energy groups and their representative bodies from across the UK to this event, alongside others working in the wider energy sector including regulators, DNOs, tech innovators and energy companies. Academics, charities and government bodies are also warmly invited for this opportunity to network and explore future innovation opportunities with other experts in the field.
Registration will open at 10.30 with the event starting promptly at 11:00. The event will finish at 17:00 and will be followed by networking drinks until 18:00, for you to see what your peers are doing in this space.
